ACG Silicon Valley Names Drue Freeman CEO

Semiconductor industry leader brings tech expertise to Valley’s premier business organization

San Jose, CA – March 6, 2018 – ACG Silicon Valley, a chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, today announced it has named former senior vice president of global automotive sales and marketing for NXP Semiconductors Drue Freeman as CEO, effective March 1. Freeman succeeds Sally Pera, who is retiring after 13 years as ACG Silicon Valley’s CEO.

“During his distinguished career, Drue lived and worked for 17 years in Japan, Germany and China. His global experience as a leader in tech and business development will complement our board’s commitment to growing ACGSV and strengthening our relationship with the Valley’s most innovative companies,” said John Maydonovitch, ACG Silicon Valley board chairman. “We look forward to his contributions and the leadership he’ll bring to the organization.”

With over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Freeman currently advises and consults on business growth and invests in technology companies disrupting the multitrillion-dollar automotive and ground transportation industry. He also serves on the board of directors at Sand Hill Angels, a group of successful Silicon Valley executives and accredited investors who are passionate about entrepreneurialism and the commercialization of disruptive technologies.

Freeman was with NXP Semiconductors for 25 years, the last six years as the senior vice president of global automotive sales and marketing. During this time, he founded and served on the board of directors at Datang-NXP Semiconductors Co., Ltd., the first Chinese automotive semiconductor company.

“ACG Silicon Valley has been a labor of love by so many dedicated and gifted executives for over 30 years, and its tremendous success comes down to the passion of its members,” said Freeman. “I can’t thank Sally enough for her leadership as CEO for the past 13 years. This is an exciting time in history, with Silicon Valley at the tip of the spear of technological change, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead ACGSV on the next phase of its evolution.”

“I never cease to be amazed by the generous spirit of the many individuals who, consistently, graciously and generously, contribute their talents, knowledge, time and connections to the ACG Silicon Valley community,” said Pera. “This spirit is the cornerstone of ACGSV’s robustness, vitality and credibility, and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to serve as its leader. It is this openness to sharing and giving which comes full circle to make involvement with ACGSV a great professional business decision and a good corporate partnership decision.”

As the Valley’s premier business organization, ACG Silicon Valley is dedicated to providing business professionals with direct and referral access to key business leaders, transformational thought leadership, and practical experiences for career growth and business development.
